Induction and Deduction with Reference to Inspiration
The place and scope of induction and deduction in the task of ascertaining the truly biblical view of scriptural inspiration is a feature that has been debated at length. In this article these approaches are explained. The author then attempts to find out whether there is any other option besides strictly siding with one of these approaches. Scriptural inerrancy is closely examined with respect to the nature of the manuscripts, grammatical consistency, approximations and inconsistencies between different passages of Scripture. In the process the author provides warnings against some pitfalls in this debate.
