When does life start? This article examines the scientific, biblical and theological views on this question. Arguing that life begins with fertilization, the article discusses issues of abortion, contraception, embryonic stem cell research, in vitro fertilisation, gene therapy, prenatal screening, family planning, and surrogacy.
