Philippians 4:4-9 teaches us not to worry or be anxious, because we have a sovereign God who is in control of all things. Therefore, we can be content in every circumstance.
1 Corinthians 7:32-35 teaches us about the importance of having an undivided focus on Christ. We should not be distracted by the worry of this world, but must be devoted to the Lord.
Luke 21:34-36 warns us to be on guard, so that we will not be weighted down with the worry of this world. Instead, we are to look to the future and be ready for the second coming of Christ.
We can often be scared or nervous to give a defence of our faith. In Matthew 10:16-23, Jesus tells us that when we face confrontation and persecution, we should not worry, but we should trust in the Spirit.
In the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, we read about the seed that is sown among thorns. Worry and the deceitfulness of wealth are these thorns, which work to choke out the Word of God and cause us to stumble in faith. This author challenges us not to worry, but instead to bear fruit for God’s kingdom.
