What does it mean to forgive? To define forgiveness, we must see how God defines forgiveness in his Word. This article offers such a definition: forgiveness is a commitment by the offended to pardon graciously the repentant from moral liability and to be reconciled to that person, although not all consequences are necessarily eliminated. The author also considers the matter of what is required of the offended when the offender is not repentant.
