Reactions to Historic Protestantism During the Modern Era in Europe
This article on church history discusses the reactions to the Protestant Reformation. Within the Roman Catholic Church the reaction was a counter-Reformation through the work of the Jesuits and the Council of Trent. Outside the Roman Catholic Church, reactive theology included Arminianism, Pietism, Quakerism, and Socinianism.
