The foundation of Hinduism, Buddhism, animism, and most other religions can be found in Genesis 3:1-7. The four lies, or spiritual flaws, are these:

1. Deny the reality of death. “You will not surely die” (vs. 4)
2. Doubt the authority of God’s Word. “Did God really say ...” (vs. 1)
3. Deify yourself. “You will be like God” (vs. 5)
4. Make your desire more authoritative than God’s Word. “When the woman saw that the tree was good ...” (vs. 6)

Satan has never altered these four foundations of deceit. He has merely dressed them in different garb at different times and in different cultures.
